Basketball update: The games in Bethune on Friday will start at 3:00 PM. It will be JH Girls A, JH Girls B (1/2), JH Boys A, Varsity Boys. They are not asking for a gate list, but you will need to sign in when you arrive. For Saturday's games in Byers, they are still not allowing visiting fans. The games are available on the NFHS Network.
Staff & School Community: Now that Kit Carson County is in Blue, and numbers have improved, we will be making some changes to our COVID Protocols. First and foremost, please stay home if you're sick! Everyone has been doing a great job of this, and it has definitely helped with attendance due to the typical cold and viral spread we see during this time of year. We are discontinuing all screenings at this time, including staff check-ins, student temp screening, and visitor temp checks/screening questionnaires. The mask order is still in effect and masks are still mandatory inside the school building. Additionally, masks are still mandatory on the bus and students need to make sure to put them on before boarding. The bus drivers do not need to keep asking the kids to do it every day. Teachers and parents, remember to please help with this before they board. The same expectation goes for students traveling to extracurricular and sports activities, even if in a small vehicle. Community/visitors are welcome to use the school facilities. This includes the weight room. The expectation is that individuals wipe down any and all equipment after using it. The same expectation is for students. If you're not sure, it never hurts to wipe beforehand also. Community/visitors are welcome to use the kitchen/cafeteria. Here's a link to state rules:https://covid19.colorado.gov/restaurants-food-services, but these are the major ones that are expected: Outdoor dining is encouraged if at all possible. Tables should be spaced six feet apart. All workers/servers/etc. must wear masks and gloves. We have plenty in the office, and if you need any, let us know. Food handling guidelines have not relaxed. Disinfect tables and seats after each party leaves, and before any party sits at the space. Make sure the cafeteria is ready again for the next day's breakfast. Condiments/extras must be served--no self-service/buffet style food. Northwest restrooms will be closed during games. Restrooms in the high school hallway are accessible. Indoor events are capped at 175 persons, and shouldn't be a problem for most all of the events we are looking forward to planning for kids this winter/spring! If you are interested in scheduling an event at the school, please contact the office for a building use form. If you have any questions/concerns, please contact the school office. Thank you!

Kit Carson County will be moving to Blue in the Colorado COVID 2.0 dial, effective tomorrow at 9:00am. Therefore, our capacity for indoor events increases significantly, to 175. We are excited to apply this for tomorrow's games and parent appreciation activities. We welcome all who wants to attend basketball games in Flagler tomorrow and support the Panthers! Masks will still be required indoors. Due to this change, admission will be taken, $5 for adults and $3 for students. Passes will be accepted. Thank you!
Reminder: We are not allowed fans at the games in Deer Trail tomorrow. The games will be streamed on Facebook live. Go to the Deer Trail School facebook page to watch.
For those following Panther basketball on NFHS: the system is set to record for a certain time frame and the information is "packaged" during programming to make it easier to find the game you want to watch. For example; the girls game records for 3 hours and may ultimately encompass part of the boys game. The boys game recording may also include the end of the girls game. This is difficult to predict, especially when there are 4 games. For this Saturday, the camera will record from 12:50-8:30. This block will then be packaged and labeled as Junior High Girls, Junior High Boys, Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys. If you start watching the Varsity Girls game at 3:00, you will be able to continue watching into the boys game until 6:00. If the boys game goes longer than 6:00, you would have to switch to the boys game to watch the rest. The best practice is to switch feeds according to the game you are wanting to watch. I will include the schedule of programmed recordings: Junior High Girls: 12:50-2:20 Junior High Boys: 1:50-3:20 Varsity Girls: 3:00-6:00 Varsity Boys: 4:30-8:30
We have updated the location of the basketball schedule on the app and website. Click menu, then look for Flagler Basketball under Activities.
Basketball Update: There will not be a boys varsity game at Eads on 1/28. There will not be a varsity girls game at Bethune on 2/12. Eads will allow 2 fans per visiting team player. The schedule for next Thursday is junior high girls, junior high boys, and varsity girls starting at 4:00 PM. We have added junior high and varsity boys vs. Eads on 2/18.
All Flagler home basketball games will be available live and on-demand through the NFHS Network. You will need to subscribe at nfhsnetwork.com and create a login. The fee is $10.99 a month or $69.99 a year. This fee give you access to all content on the network from any school/location that uses it.
There was some confusion with the logo when we set up our new app and website. If you are not seeing our official logo (the panther wrapping around the "F") you can delete your app and reload it and it should update for you.
